Tim Kindberg has over two decades of experience in the independent commercial, corporate and academic sectors.  He holds a PhD in Computer Science and has held visiting professorships at the University of Bath and the IT University, Copenhagen. He spent ten years at Hewlett-Packard Labs in Palo Alto and Bristol. For ten years he was senior lecturer in computer science at Queen Mary, London. He is the founder and creator of Vorb and Nth Screen and he runs matter2media.com, which develops apps providing interactivity in the world around us where we work, live and play.

Tim helps technologies grow into real-world applications where they solve problems and add experiential value. His goal is to provide new digital media platforms and to create and enhance experiences for users. He has been the leader of industrial partnerships. He is co-author of Internet RFC 4151 and worked on standards at the Open Mobile Alliance. He is a textbook author, is an inventor on sixteen patents, has published many scientific papers, is a regular speaker at conferences and other events. He has also organised and facilitated many workshops on computer systems and digital media.
